What We Offer
Our Mission
To love the children like Jesus.
Our Vision
The vision of Meadows Academy preschool is to provide quality child care in a Christian environment, which builds the physical, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual growth of each student. We view parents as partners and an integral part in working alongside us to instill a firm foundation that facilitates lifelong learning.
Our Philosophy
At Meadows Academy we believe that God has given parents and teachers the awesome responsibility of nurturing the children He has placed in our care. We believe that it is essential that children be cared for in a Christian environment by dedicated teachers. We believe that the Bible is the basis of wisdom and we will endeavor to teach Biblical truths by example, through Bible stories and character studies. We believe that organizing and supporting each child’s individual talents and interest develops an enduring passion for learning. We believe in providing a rich environment, filled with age-appropriate activities that will motivate and challenge each learner to achieve their very best.
As children explore, question, listen, build, paint, play and sing they develop readiness for school and other life experiences. We believe that the family unit is the most influential and crucial component of a child’s development. This is why we aim to build a strong relationship with our families.
Curriculum
We utilize HighScope for infants and WEE Learn Curriculum® for all other age groups. WEE Learn is grounded in evidence-based practices, programs using the WEE Learn philosophy and curriculum work to support children and families. The youngest learners need to feel safe and supported so they can learn with their whole body and all of their senses. In a HighScope infant program, teachers focus on developing supportive, trusting relationships with the children in their care. Children’s individual differences and learning styles are considered as they learn through play and interactions with supportive early childhood teachers to maximize each child’s learning potential. WEE Learn is a curriculum that supports best practice and has been evidence-based researched and cross-referenced with the Florida Performance Standards. We also use the Southern Union of SDA’s Pebbles as supplemental resources for Bible-based instruction.
Our classrooms provide rich learning environments with age-appropriate, yet challenging play equipment and materials, and learning centers that encourage exploration and discovery, discussion, and child and adult interaction. Teachers plan activities based on children’s interests and our goals for their learning of content and skills. It is the teacher’s responsibility to keep you informed of your child’s progress and keep the lines of communication clear and open. Teachers will conduct your parent conferences, your child’s assessments, and transitions to your child’s next educational setting.
The program is aimed at the mental and creative development of children – from junior groups to preparation for school.
Our Goals for Children
We value the importance of early childhood education in our programs, as well as the faculty who work here. The care at Meadows Academy is provided by teaching faculty trained in developmentally appropriate practices for children. This means that the children are engaged in learning throughout the day, including lunch time, rest time, outside play, etc. In order for children to learn and be ready for school and life, faculty must provide a safe, nurturing environment in which children experience activities including sharing, exploring, testing limits, making mistakes and trying again
The program is aimed at the mental and creative development of children – from junior groups to preparation for school.
